Supported Exporting Applications

Over the decades, thousands of people from all over the world have used Gigatrees to build their family trees and to generate other genealogical reports, requiring Gigatrees to process #GEDCOM files exported from a wide variety of applications. The 25 most commonly used exporting applications are shown here. In order to support these and the other less commonly used apps, Gigatrees includes support for hundreds of 3rd-party GEDCOM tags, including many related to privacy, source templates, source categorization, location records, shared roles, research logs, and many, many more.

You can easily see in the chart below that #Ancestry makes up over 40% of all exporting applications, with Family Tree Maker (#FTM) trailing in a distant 2nd with just under 20%. #MyHeritage, #Legacy ®, #Family Historian, #RootsMagic, #Gramps and Personal Ancestral File® (#PAF), make up the bulk of the remaining exporting applications. The chart shown is updated in real-time as new users run the application.
